Achievement of these University Learning Goals adopted by the faculty and administration in 2012 is primarily the responsibility of the faculty, as measured through an assessment plan administered by the Educational Effectiveness Committee. Each academic program aligns its program learning outcomes with the University Learning Goals to ensure that the Goals guide the Jessup educational experience and fulfill the University mission. Therefore, as the academic program assesses its own learning outcomes, it gathers discipline-specific evidence that the ULGs are also fulfilled even within courses.
Institutional and program student learning outcomes for all academic programs, including general education, are published in the catalog, on the website, and in departmental handbooks. Course-level student learning outcomes are included in all syllabi.
Assessment of student learning at every level follows the same cycle of instructional improvement: goals, outcomes, implementation, feedback, analysis, and improvement.
