Academic Video Online is a streaming video platform created by Alexander Street Press. It hosts over 20,000 titles of video and audio files. Offering resources across the disciplines, you can find everything from theatre and counseling videos to science documentaries, classical music performances, and the [re-released] controversial film series, The March of Time.
Are you a music major, looking for a jazz performance? Or maybe you’re a history professor, hoping to bring some Parisian imagery to your French Revolution lecture via a documentary. Academic Video Online now offers another helpful piece to the WJU Library’s growing repertoire of educational resources.
These clips can be shown in the classroom or linked to Moodle for ease of access. Academic Video Online offers a custom playlist tool, where users can build their own library of videos, as well as a custom clipping tool, which allows a file to be shortened to fit a user’s needs. There are also buttons that conveniently allow you to email yourself a video or generate its citation.
The Library hopes this new resource provides helpful support for both traditional and online classes!
