Jessup Academies

While the Learning Commons remains open during normal business hours, students have the option to meet remotely via phone or Google Hangout (Jessup Gmail accounts). Meeting location preferences may be selected in the Online Scheduler  at the creation of an appointment.

Availability of in-person appointments may vary based on individual staff members.

The Academies were created to partner with the academic support needs of first-year, continuing, and transfer students admitted to William Jessup University. All academic support programs listed below are linked to study skills services provided in the Learning Commons, including the Writing Center and tutoring in math and other general education subjects. The following Academies are offered to new and transfer students upon application and acceptance:

Freshman Academy

Freshman Academy is a required orientation program for new students who are admitted on academic support. The program is designed to be two semesters, where students are registered as a cohort. Academy students are pre-registered for their fall and spring semester courses, and students are still able to graduate in four years.

Your enrollment deposit of $750 is confirmation of your commitment to Jessup and the Freshman Academy. It covers the one-time $500 Freshman Academy fee and $250 toward tuition. You will be contacted prior to your first term and receive an outline of requirements and program expectations.

Transfer Academy

Transfer Academy is designed to assist new transfer students who have been admitted on academic support. The program is designed to be one semester, where students are registered for a one-unit orientation course and meet regularly with academic support staff.

Your enrollment deposit of $500 is confirmation of your commitment to Jessup and the Transfer Academy. It covers the one-time $250 Transfer Academy fee and $250 toward tuition. You will be contacted prior to your first term and receive an outline of requirements and program expectations.
