Student Teaching Application

Hello Prospective Student Teachers!

Before enrolling in Student Teaching I & II, you must submit an application, submit the required documents on the checklist, have completed the appropriate coursework, and be accepted by the Credential Admission Committee. To start your application, first review the student teaching deadlines/dates and credential checklists, then submit the application below.

Student Teaching Deadlines

Fall Student-Teacher Eligibility:

  • Student Teaching Application: Due September 15th of the Fall prior to starting student teaching.
  • Student Teaching Clearance: Due by February 1st prior to starting Fall student teaching. This deadline guarantees a placement in the Fall.
  • Petition for Late Student Teaching Clearance: (No guarantee of Fall placement) Due by February 15th prior to student teaching in the Fall. Candidates will not be placed without this. 
    • Potential Fall student teachers will not be placed after June 1st.

Spring Student-Teacher Eligibility:

  • Student Teaching Application: Due February 15th of the Spring prior to starting student teaching.
  • Student Teaching Clearance: Due by September 1st prior to starting Spring student teaching. This deadline guarantees a placement in the Spring.
  • Petition for Late Student Teaching Clearance: (No guarantee of Spring placement) Due by September 15th prior to student teaching in the Spring. Candidates will not be placed without this
    • Potential Spring student teachers will not be placed after November 1st.

Master of Arts in Teaching & Undergraduate Candidates:**

Fall Approximate Dates:

Placements: Mid-August through Mid-December

Spring Approximate Dates:
Placements: Early January through Mid-May

** Single Subject Placements will be semester long placements, exact dates will be set according to the placement school calendar.

*Dates are subject to change based on school calendar.
