Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

TESOL is a program that prepares students to Teach English to Speakers of Other Languages abroad or domestically in a variety of settings. Additionally, it may uniquely prepare students for careers in nonprofit organizations, international business, church education programs, on the the mission fields, and for graduate studies. It is important to note that this program does not lead to a California teaching credential.

TESOL program candidates are students with a desire to understand different cultures and Teach English to Speakers of Other Languages. The program can be integrated into a current baccalaureate degree program as a minor or concentration in the Liberal Studies degree or non-degree professional stand-alone course sequence. Students completing the program requirements will receive a School of Education TESOL Certificate of Completion.
